The Central Dogma
A downloadable game for Windows
Ground rules
1. The left end of a DNA sequence is called the 5' end, which is the positive direction; the right end is called the 3 end, which is the opposite direction. All sequences that appear in the game are displayed from 5' to 3',
2. On the left side of the page, the mainboard is displayed. You can select, backup, Delete, and upload any board on the upper side of the mainboard.
3. At the bottom of the interface is the operation bar, each button represents an enzyme (an operation). Select a certain bar and press the button in the operation bar to achieve the corresponding effect.
4. Each character of the sequence represents a base, and the base pairing mode is A-T \C-G
5. The goal of the game is to convert the given sequence into the specified sequence through the operation of various enzymes provided, click the upload button, and the sequence can be successfully matched
-----------------------------------------------------
DNA polymerase
1. According to the base complementary pairing rule, a new sequence is synthesized to replace the original sequence, and the 5' of the new sequence is located at the 3' end of the original sequence
DNA ligase
1. After the ligase is used on one sequence, it is marked with a connector. After the ligase is used on another sequence, the two sequences are connected.
2. The length of both sequences is not less than 4 and the length is not equal, and the longer sequence is connected to the 3' end of the shorter sequence
3. The sequence marked with a connector will not be able to use the buttons in the action bar.
Restriction endonuclease
1. Identify the first CGAT sequence starting from 5', break the sequence, and generate two sequences with CG as 3' end and AT as 5' end respectively
hypothermia
1. If the selected sequence can be paired in the chain, the paired sequence will be displayed in red, and the sequence in the paired area will be displayed in small font
2. Sequences in the paired region are not affected by various other enzymes, but sequences outside the paired region will still react with other enzymes
3. In-chain pairing rule: the pairing sequence length is not less than 4, and only the pairing 5' end can produce the sequence of in-chain pairing at the earliest
Heat up
If an in-chain pairing state exists, cancel it
Mutagen AG/GA/CT/TC
Replace all A/G/C/T's in the sequence with G/A/T/C's (in-chain pairing regions are not affected)
5' exonuclease
Sequentially cut 5' end sequences (in-chain pairing regions are not affected)
3' exonuclease
Sequentially cut 3' end sequences (in-chain pairing regions are not affected)
